Ginebra crushes Blackwater by 30, clinches first win in PBA Season 50 Governors Cup


Barangay Ginebra earned its first win of the conference by defeating Blackwater in a dominant 30-point victory in the PBA Season 50 Governors Cup on July 24, 2026.


Ginebra pulled away in the third quarter by forcing turnovers, building a lead of 96-63.

Stephen Holt led Ginebra’s offense while Justin Brownlee, Jamie Malonzo, and Scottie Thompson delivered strong all-around performances to win.


Ginebra came out with high intensity, using aggressive defense and efficient shooting to establish an early advantage and finish the opening quarter with a 31-23 lead over Blackwater.

They maintained their momentum by moving the ball effectively and capitalizing on Blackwater’s turnovers, allowing them to widen the gap to a 62-42 lead on the second quarter.


Ginebra furnished its strongest performance of the game by dominating both ends of the floor, commanding a 96-63 advantage on the third quarter.


With the outcome already in hand, Ginebra continued to execute great offense, grabbing the title with the score of 115-85.


Blackwater’s leading scorers fought hard, but the team fell short against Ginebra, defeated by 30 points.
