Domeng escalates, expected to leave the PAR

Typhoon Domeng (international name: Jangmi) escalates after moving north-northwest over the Philippine Sea east of Batanes this Sunday, March 31.

As stated by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), Domeng was last tracked 650 kilometers east-northeast of Basco, Batanes.

Domeng brings a maximum sustained wind of 130 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and wind speeds of up to 160 kph while moving north-northwest at 15 kph.

Guided by its forecast track, it's unlikely to hit the country due to its distance and location if it continues to move north-northwest before heading toward southern Japan.
