‎Decongesting The Classroom With The New Curriculum

‎The Department of Education (DepEd) made some major changes in the DepEd curriculum; they fully implemented a three-term school calendar for the beginning of the school year 2026-2027, which was published on March 23, 2026.

‎This is a major structural reform that aimed to improve learning delivery while still maintaining the required number of school days, and the transmutation of grades will also still be used through an adjusted conversion table, under which a raw grade of 70 will correspond to a transmutted grade of 75.

‎Junior High School Students faced new and much tougher challenges due to the consecutive schoolwork and activities; on the other side, Senior High School Students are still adapting to the new SHS curriculum. To be exact, DepEd simplifies the previous systems by removing the strand-based setup (STEM, AMB, HUMMS, and GAS). With the new curriculum, SHS students now only have to choose between 2 clusters, ACADEMIC and TECHPRO.

‎This new curriculum can be an advantage for the students who are only focused on Academics due to the fact that they will only do discussion in the instructional block. However, the student-athletes are still adjusting to the new curriculum because they aren't getting enough time to practice for the competition inside and outside the school.

‎If the DepEd new curriculum aims to align classroom instruction with real-world skills, ensuring that students are not only ‎academically competent but also industry-ready, most of the students experience academic pressure, Fatigue, and Academic Burnout,

‎Especially the students in a school that has shifting classes in the afternoon; some students go to school in the afternoon, specifically 11-12:00 pm to 5-6:00 pm. They are already exhausted.

‎In the works and activities at school, what more if the teachers give them assignments, activities, and performances at home.
