Phones Down, Focus Up

Have you ever noticed that many students cannot stop checking their phones even inside the classroom? Every notification makes them curious, and sometimes they forget to listen to the teacher. Instead of taking down notes, they spend their time scrolling on social media or watching short videos. Because of this, many schools are now becoming more strict when it comes to using gadgets during class.

Some students are not happy with the rule because they say phones also helps them in researching and doing activities. They believe that gadgets make learning easier, especially when they need to search for information quickly. There are also educational apps that can help students understand their lessons better. Because of that, they think phones should not be completely banned.

On the other hand, many teachers support the rule. They noticed that students participate more when gadgets are kept away during discussions. Students are more active in asking questions and working with their classmates. This creates a better classroom environment where everyone is more focused.

Parents also have different opinions about the issue. Some parents agree with the rule because they want their children to avoid distractions while studying. Others believe that students should only use their phones when the teacher allows it for educational purposes. These rules are helpful if students know how to use gadgets responsibly.

For me, the rule is not really bad. We can still use our phones after class, but during lessons we should give our full attention to our teachers. Learning is more important than watching short videos for a few minutes. If students learn to control their gadget use, they can become more responsible and improve their performance in school.
